Purpose

Sigma Gamma Epsilon is the National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences. Founded at the University of Kansas in 1915, Sigma Gamma Epsilon recognizes “scholarship and professionalism” in the Earth Sciences and has approximately 200 chapters nationwide.

The Alpha Gamma Chapter at UCLA promotes promotes academic excellence and professional development of its members through outreach, academic, and social events.
